CASE STUDY 1 – Management Accounts Department

Our fees for this service: £975.00 per month

12 years ago this company advertised for an accountant because their part time accountant was retiring. Their accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, payroll and reconciliations were all produced manually. The astute business owner saw the benefits that our service would provide. We replaced their company accountant, installed Sage Line 50 and trained and provided support for their accounts clerks.

For over a decade we have managed their accounts from our offices, whilst they operate their sales and purchase ledgers on-site.

Every month we reconcile their figures and produce management accounts. Therefore their business decisions are taken on sound financial information. Our service has developed with time and we also provide the services of a Financial Director for them; extending our remit beyond accounts and finance to strategic business and management issues.

 

CASE STUDY 2 – Complete Accounts Department

Business Type: Registered charity providing welfare support to the families of people associated with the maritime sector.

Turnover: £600K – with an investment portfolio in excess of £10M

In 2004 their accountant retired and we replaced him, providing:

  • day-today accounting support
  • quarterly reports for trustees / the Board
  • investment portfolio reviews, monitoring and reports
  • book-keeping services
  • process the payroll.

 

CASE STUDY 3 – Complete Accounts Department

Business type: Specialist wholesaler and supplier of scientific instruments

Turnover: £1.2M

Our fees for this service: £1,245.00 per month

Preparation of statutory accounts: £2,750.00 plus VAT

In 2001 we became the cost effective alternative to having a full time £70,000 per annum accountant employed on-site; one of our Senior Accounts Manager was appointed to this role. By accessing their accounts on-line (Sage Line 100) we control and manage their accounts.

Every day an appointed Senior Accounts Manager liaises with their accounting staff, providing them with advice and support. We:

  • control all month end procedures
  • process the payroll
  • produce monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
  • manage and oversee all stock movements within the accounts
  • produce the final accounts and conduct an internal audit on their behalf, significantly reducing costs on external audit and accountancy fees.

 As a result of our success we now service other companies with which this company is directly associated.

 

CASE STUDY 4 – Complete Accounts Department

Business Type: Veterinary specialists

Turnover: £3M

Our fees for this complete service: £2,150.00 plus vat per month.

This business provides a multi-discipline veterinary referral centre for cats and dogs providing the highest quality of surgical and medical care. The clinicians are nationally and internationally recognised specialists in their field. This business is highly successful and expanding very quickly.

In 2007 their existing accountants provided a traditional book keeping and accounting service for them but this was costing a lot of money and failing miserably; they had never received a set of accurate management accounts.

Since 2007 we have provided the all encompassing accounts department service; dealing with all accounting and payroll aspects of the business, from the processing and payment of purchase invoices, through to monthly management accounts, budget preparation, statutory accounts production and corporation tax computations. We also advise the Directors on personal tax matters.
