Take care - HMRC errors on CIS

We have just taken a call from a client who has discovered a glitch/error on his HMRC account relating to CIS payments due.
Basically, despite submitting a nil return HMRC had assessed him early and estimated CIS due on previous years and raised a charge on his account.
We have spoken with HMRC and they have admitted there is a problem and incorrect CIS estimated amounts are being placed on various companies accounts.
